Assessing the Waterproof and Windproof Performance of PartyTent in Rainy or Windy Weather
1. Waterproof Rating and Water Column Pressure
PartyTent uses double-layer PVC or PE coated polyester fabric. Its standard waterproof rating is in the range of 2000-3000mm water column, keeping the interior dry even in heavy rain.
Some high-end models are labeled "Waterproof" and have passed the manufacturer's internal waterproof testing to ensure no leakage under continuous rainfall.
2. Structure and Seam Treatment
The double-layer structure, combined with hot melt adhesive or high-strength tape for edge sealing, and waterproof tape or heat-sealing for seams, significantly improves overall waterproofness.
Key areas (such as entrances and side wall joints) use reinforced tape and undergo water pressure spray testing to ensure no leaks.
3. Wind Resistance Rating and Wind Pressure Withstandability
The frame material is mostly hard-extruded aluminum alloy 6061/T6 or steel pipe, designed to withstand wind pressures from 80km/h (standard) to 1000km/h (special).
Wind speed testing includes wind tunnel experiments and on-site measurements to ensure the structure remains stable and undeformed under strong winds or gusts.
4. Comprehensive Evaluation Points
A waterproof rating (mm) ≥2000mm is a basic requirement; Seam waterproofing must use heat sealing or adhesive strips and pass a water pressure test; Frame materials and wind pressure ratings must be matched to the intended use (for large outdoor events, a model with a wind pressure rating ≥80km/h is recommended); On-site inspection: Check the tightness of support poles, ropes, and ground stakes to prevent structural loosening due to wind.
